Attn: AndyBernard…No more 3rd person..proof of double team blocking

Here it is, now cut the annoying 3rd person crap please. Although the blocking in this video is absolutely horendous on running plays, (blockers still making stupid descisions, acting lost, running around with no momentum, the list goes on) the double team blocks are in fact in the game, and this… more

Greyhounds Betting: Capel Wilson the dog to beat at Hove

While all eyes will be on Wimbledon for the first round of the Blue Square Derby at the end of the week, there’s the not so small matter of the Sky Sports covered Regency meeting on Tuesday evening to deal with first, writes Darrell Williams.
While races are seldom as straight forward as they first appear, Lee and Tony Gifkins’ Capel Wilson is undoubtedly the dog to beat at Hove and a worthy favourite as he chases a remarkable nine timer.

Said to thrive on his racing, he is effective from both inside and middle boxes, and should soon take advantage from his trap one berth, with only rank outsider Bea and Bea likely to provide any early pace threat. Golden Jacket winner Lorrys Options, who got within a neck of Capel Wilson in the heats, has nevertheless been behind that rival in his last three starts, although a draw nearer the inside will help.

Tony Collett runs littermates Brimardon Helen and Star, and while the latter has marginally the best overall form – he was not unfancied in the Golden Jacket final when missing the break – he has won only one of his eight starts at the track. Simple analysis it may be, but I fancy Capel Wilson to justify the odds and make all.

The supporting card has an attractive look to it, with Magna Venturer taken to beat last week’s Sky puppy race winner Centurion Enry in the 7.40. Barrie Draper has his dogs in fine fettle – Glengar Ginger’s win in the Golden Sprint final the other night a prime example – and this youngster, who was within two lengths of the fastest time this year for the 515m trip last week, should be even better suited by a middle draw this time. He had earlier finished fourth in a high class Midland Puppy Derby final, form which should be enough to account for Paul Young’s nevertheless highly respected rival.

Moatview Storm is taken to beat old rival Raithby Toure in the sprint (8.0). Both have been notching up CD wins for fun recently, beating each other in recent weeks, but the selection just appears slightly better drawn, away from the other pace runners.
I’ve taken a chance in the hurdles race (8.50) in going for Stevensonsrocket, who while never reaching the heights he was once expected to, looks well drawn as the sole seeded runner outside The Other Outlaw. His recent Romford form reads well, but if anything he’s better around Hove than anywhere else and could be over-priced.

The 9.10 looks a belter, with Droopys Carvalho back to the scene of his biggest win in the Sussex Cup, and John Mullins’ runner is in excellent form after winning a competition at Romford over the weekend. While he should take the beating, his draw just outside early paced wide runner Westmead Keawn is a potential concern. Magna Dave, a winner on his first look at the track last week rates a danger, but why not try local hope Raithby Syrah, who has been winning plenty of Opens at the track recently and looks too big in the market. more

Owen to it’s fullest potential?

Hi,

I need some help on an issue.
I’m using Newcastle and I’m in my 2nd season. It’s not going to shabby, but I have especially problems against the big four (Man Utd and Chelsea, though Liverpool and Arsenal are a bit easier to handle).

Anyway, the problem is Owen. He’s a class player,… more

Why oh Why do the Sox/Yanks play such long games?!

OK so they scored a ton of runs yesterday so that can be excused a bit but man every time these two teams hook up the games go literally 4 hrs. It can’t be the commercial breaks can it? I’m no fan of those two so can anyone who’s a fan and seen a ton of series between these two teams give me an… more

Timeform Horses To Avoid: Fistral Beach and Dome Rocket

Timeform identify a pair to swerve if you’re having a bet.
Fistral Beach has proved a difficult horse to win with and judging by his reluctant performance at Chepstow on Friday, even champion trainer Paul Nicholls may struggle to coax another victory from him. After his debut bumper win, he has been second or third on each of his six hurdle starts, and has looked less than enthusiastic on more than one occasion. Blinkers failed to do the trick last time as he was outbattled by China Gold, and at present it seems he just doesn’t have the will to win.

Dome Rocket shaped with plenty of promise as a two-year-old but took his losing run to four when making his seasonal reappearance at Kempton on Wednesday. Sent off a well backed favourite, he was always struggling to land a blow and didn’t seem entirely straightforward. It could simply be that he needs more time but at the moment it is the percentage call to oppose him, especially if he goes off at such a short price next time.
