Best IDP for 2009?
I didn’t play in a league that had individual defensive players last year. This year we have IDP’s, so I’m wondering who I should be looking at. I think it would probably be best to get a good LB, since they get sacks, int’s, tackles, and are quick enough to score TD’s if they get the ball.
I’m thinking I should look at Patrick Willis, James Harrison, Jon Beason, Barrett Ruud, Jerod Mayo…anyone else?
And what about DE’s? I don’t think they’d be as good a choice since they don’t get picks, and rarely get TD’s. But they do get sacks, tackles and safetys. So, what do you think? more
Mine that Bird ready for West Virginia
For horse racing enthusiasts in West Virginia, the upcoming West Virginia Derby will be a one of a kind event, but then again, Mine that Bird and his trainer, Bennie “Chip” Woolley Jr. are one of a kind. They are an inseparable team, and Woolley’s laid back and calm demeanor seems to have rubbed off on the Champion, who takes his victories in his stride and has become a racehorse that has won over many hearts during his career. But for West Virginia, it will be the first time they have a Kentucky Derby winner in their midst. more
Back indirectly.
Hey Dugout! Topher here! Well sort of anyway. I haven’t been on for a while due to personal problems and the lack of football around. Been getting back into my Yate town game so figured I should pay a visit.

Del Mar Racetrack adopts softer whips for horses

DEL MAR Del Mar Racetrack in San Diego County is taking the sting out of its horsewhips.
On Wednesday, it will become the first track in California to require the use of riding crops that can’t raise welts.
The whips are made of softer leather or fabric. They’re supposed to get the horse’s attention with a popping noise rather than causing pain.
The new whips cost more but the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club will provide them to jockeys who can’t afford them.
Actress Bo Derek, who’s on the California Horse Racing Board, says she noticed many Del Mar jockeys already using the whips so she suggested making it a rule.
Hollywood Park will require the softer whips this fall. Tracks in Kentucky, New York and Maryland already require them.

Who are the bigger set of cunts?
I’ve debated this question long and hard for quite some time and i’ve had a tricky time coming up with an answer. My early life was scattered with run ins with the obligatory MUFC mad spastic who runs around the school playground, collar up like Cantona kicking… more
Steal of the draft?
Well with Ingram going down for the eagles it’s fairly obvious he won’t have a standout rookie season. And hopefully he can return to play at a high level, poor kid. Anyways, what do you guys consider to be the steal of this years draft?
For me, it is obvious. It was so obvious I thought I missed him getting picked up in the first 2 rounds. To go to the Chargers in the 4th round. His name is Vaughn Martin. Vaughn had a stellar NFL combine and is a freakish athlete. Running a 4.9 40 at nosetackle size (6’4\” 340 lbs) and still putting up big numbers on the bench. The downside, Canadian college football. It helps to note he was a standout who played on both sides of the ball but mostly at the DT position, he played DE, LB and Safety as well. But he did play in Canadian college football which has slightly different rules. He seems to be a smart kid capable of making an immediate impact on the chargers defense. The perfect athlete for a 3-4 DE. Keep an eye out for Vaughn. more
Whitney victory for Bullsbay
The Whitney Handicap is one of the most popular horse racing events on the racing calendar, as it is not only a wonderful Grade 1 event, but winning Whitney Handicap automatically secures the victorious horse a position in the Breeders’ Cup Classic. Commentator, the race favorite was aiming to become one of the few horses to win the Whitney Handicap three times, but glory was not meant to be for the courageous eight year old, as Bullsbay stormed the finish line and secured the victory. more
100′s Of Dodgy Football Ticket Sellers Have Been Shut Down
The UK government’s newly-created Police Central e-crime Unit have announced a new attack on iffy online ticket sellers. This unit announced last Friday that it had recently shut down over 100 web sites that were suspected of selling online "fraudulent or non-existent tickets" to major Premiership and FA football matches.
Muppets, bang them all up I say, Premiership tickets cost enough without paying twice!
