Case Study: Spas and Holiday Resorts
Spas were once the preserve of wealthy housewives, swaning around in their robes all day drinking chardonnay and spending every waking hour preening themselves in an attempt to reach an Aphrodite-like state. This stereotype is famously mocked in Little Britain with the bubbles character. The fact is that Spas are becoming more and more popular these days and are starting to shed their bourgeois, exclusively middle-class stigma. Many holiday resorts are now implementing spas as part of their overall service to the holiday maker. One resort which has used the mass-appeal health spa with great success is Club La Santa in Lazarote.
Club La Santa is an mid-range family holiday resort that is also very targeted in that it caters for celebrity athletes. Along with the usual swimming pool surrounded by sun loungers, numerous restaurants and a disco, the resort houses a full sized football pitch, an Olympic pool, indoor and outdoor gyms and a large sports hall. This makes it the ideal winter training camp retreat for athletes wanting to train and relax away from press an paparazzi. The Wellness Centre added to the resort three years ago offers a sauna, steam room, heated pool, Jacuzzi, plunge pool and flotation chambers allowing anyone from the professional sportsman to the casual holiday maker to enjoy the rejuvenating, restorative effects of a spa.
The difference is that The Wellness Centre does not conform to a traditional spa day format. Instead tokens can be purchased for around ten pounds which allow a single use of the spa for an unlimited amount of time. This veers away from spa days simply being seen as gifts for women and treats it more an express or drive-thru facility where punters can relax after a day of activity (or sunbathing!) before venturing out for the evening meal. This is re-defining the spa, making it relevant and accessible for all. Who knows, with an ever increasing emphasis on health and wellness, the UK may quickly try to emulate this model with its own form of express spas.

It seems like in the UK we are having one of the best summers of all times and hopefully will remain like this. Even if we have a good summer people are still looking to go on holiday. The advantages of leasing A vacation Cottage In Cornwall
One of the most beautiful parts of the United Kingdom to spend a holiday is Cornwall. From the rolling green country to the stunning wonderful beaches there is something for everyone to see and do. Regardless of where you are visiting you want to make sure you get the right accommodation as this can make the difference between the ideal holiday and a bad dream. Here are some of the primary advantages of hiring a cottage in Cornwall.
Privacy is one of the major benefits of hiring a cottage. In a hotel theres always the possibility that you might be next door or beneath noisy guests. You also have to share the outside areas with other guests. If you enjoy being alone with your buddies or family then a holiday cottage in Cornwall is certainly the best option. You will nearly always have your own garden space and in some cases even a personal pool or jacuzzi. Infrequently hotel staff could be a little overbearing and enthusiastic to please which is another problem that you arent getting in a cottage.
When you lease self catering accommodation youll just about always have extra money to spend on trips and treats for your holiday. Although you might want to eat out continually there is nothing preventing you from having one or two meals in the cottage to save money. If you would like to be in a position to visit attractions such as the Eden Project while on your holiday in Cornwall then self-catering may supply you with the spare money to do so. Dont forget to check the kitchen facilities of the cottage you are hiring before you commit otherwise you could be disappointed if it doesnt have all of the appliances you need.
Another advantage of having a cottage is that it provides you with more home comforts. Youll have a dining room for eating, a living room for relaxing whilst watching the television and a separate bedroom for sleeping. A hotel can feel cramped after a little while while a large cottage doesnt have that difficulty. If you are staying in the cottage for a very long time it may also be very helpful to have a washer and dryer as it means that you dont have to bring a brand new set of clothes for every day.
One thing to watch out for is renting a cottage or studio thatss attached to the owners house. The vast majority of owners are respectful when it comes to giving their guests privacy but there are a few that are not.
there are lots of advantages to renting a holiday cottage in Cornwall compared to other options such as a hotel. If you need to explore the country of Cornwall whilst still having all the comfort of home then there is nothing that compares to a well equipped cottage. Theres a wide range of different cottages available from tiny single bedrooms to much larger cottages with multiple bedrooms so youll always be in a position to find somewhere that suits the type of holiday that you want.
